Amani "Burt Blackarach" Smith
A trusted collaborator on high-profile projects, Burt Blackarach's credits include Netflix’s Oscar nominated, The Perfect Neighbor, the Oscar shortlisted, Stamped From the Beginning, ABC’s The Wonder Years, National Geographic/Disney+’s Genius: MLK/X, and Vice's Running While Black.
He serves as both music supervisor and composer, created original music for the ESPYs, Sunday Night Baseball, The X Games, and ESPN franchises, Showtime’s Shut Up and Dribble and co-wrote the main title with Public Enemy's Chuck D,
His work consists of composing for major studio projects, producing for artists such as Aerosmith, Method Man, and André 3000, and performing globally as a turntablist alongside legends like Jay-Z, Nas and opening for Prince.
He created Airbnb's top rated experience Be A DJ For A Day and also oversees Salamani Music, a pioneering Black-owned publishing catalog founded by his parents in 1971, whose works have been sampled and covered by hundreds of influential artists.
